Unity Announces Partnership With Nvidia
Unity announced its collaboration with Nvidia on real-time RTX graphics at GDC 2019. This new feature is already functional, but it still needs some finishing touches.
Natalya Tatarchuk, Vice President of Unity Technologies’ Graphics Division, said.ย “We are committed to providing the best possible graphics. Last year we created the High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP). This revolves a solution that enabled the rendering of stunning graphics based on rasterizing technology. We built HDRP with the future in mind and today we are announcing our partnership with Nvidia bringing real-time ray tracing technology. Along will bring all its capabilities, as well, that will deliver an even more realistic result in this area.”
Bob Pette, vice president of NVIDIA’s Professional Visualization division, added:
“Until the advent of RTX, real-time ray tracing was an impossibility for many developers. But now, with its integration into Unity, they can achieve incredible real-time graphics.
The demo chosen to showcase Unity’s capabilities was created in collaboration with BMW Group and compares a real 2019 BMW 8 Series Coupe side-by-side with a virtual rendered version.”
