Vivaldi is a freeware, cross-platform web browser with many features. It launched in April 2016 and aims at technically-inclined users. In September 2019 releashed a mobile beta version and a regular one in April 2020. Vivaldi began as a virtual community providing to registered users blogs, forums and other practical web services and then launched a technical preview of a web browser. It combines an interface like Opera’s, with an open source Chromium platform.
- Vivaldi supports mouse gesture browsing and the well known “quick dial” interface, which shows your favorite tabs in the new tab is also present in this new web browser.
- Key features include: Quick Commands. Quick Links. Notes. Customized interface. Spatial navigation.
- Inside the left toolbar at the Bookmarks menu are the Bookmarks and Downloads menus and a Notes tool as well.
- Items are placed in logical positions and all are kept small and out of the way; Vivaldi uses simple but effective fonts and icons.
It clearly guides users as they point to the various features and tools. - It’s relatively small (for a browser) and not so demanding on system resources.
