Western Digital presents 14TB drive

14TB HDD drive from Western Digital

How can Seagate antagonize that?

The capacities of SSDs have been increasing significantly in recent years, however, mechanical disks still maintain a leading position in the storage sector, with competitive pricing offers and new technological innovations all the time.

Western Digital announces a new HDD drive model is coming soon, through its subsidiary, HGST HGST, a business-focused company that specializes in providing “enterprise-class” storage solutions, has recently developed the new Ultrastar Hs14 HDD. This drive uses 4G HelioSeal technology (the fourth generation of the company’s proprietary technology) and has up to a capacity of 14TB.

This new drive scale-up technology allows manufacturers to use helium or argon, which can increase the number of platters and accuracy, while keeping your energy costs down. The hard drive will last for a minimum of 5 years. According to calculations, it should take up to 2.5 million hours of use (Mean Time Between Failure)

Seagate recently announced the release of new 3.5 HDD drives, including the IronWolf Pro and BarraCuda Pro series. With these new advancements, Seagate will allow you to upgrade from this device for more than home use. With capacities reaching 12TB and classified by Seagate as “home use models”, we’re excited about the possibility of jumping.

ย The IronWolf series models will incorporate IHM technology, so NAS system owners (Synology, QNAP, Asustor) can rest easy knowing the health of their disks. The 200-point check on their system will inform them in detail about any problems they might be experiencing!

Seagate has their newest models available in the UK and they are competitively priced. They are the IronWolf 12TB, BarraCuda Pro 12TB, and IronWolf PRO 12TB.
