Significant raise on speed connections | 2 and 4 Mbps speeds are abolished
Some information was recently put up for public consultation by the National Telecommunications and Postal Commission,It includes wholesale A.RY.S., VPU, and VPU light that relate to 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps speeds respectively.
Existing 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps speed connections will upgraded to 24 Mbps. The transition starts on June 30th, at the current monthly charge of 24 Mbps. Upgrades will announced at least two months in advance.
In recent years, there has been a shift in the way that internet service providers (ISPs) are offering their services to consumers. ISPs would offer a variety of different speeds, such as 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps. Now, they are moving towards offering speeds that are at least 24 Mbps or higher.
Several factors drive this change. One of the main reasons is that internet usage has increased significantly in recent years, with more people streaming videos, playing online games, and working from home. As a result, consumers are demanding faster and more reliable internet speeds. Additionally, many ISPs are investing in upgrading their networks to be able to offer faster speeds to their customers.
Another reason for the shift towards higher speeds is that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has raised the minimum standard for broadband internet from 4 Mbps to 25 Mbps. This means that ISPs are, now, required to offer speeds that meet this standard so as to be a considerable broadband provider.
