The Olivetti Echos 44 had an Intel i486DX2 processor at 66MHz and memory of 4MB up to 24MB. Equipped with an HDD and a floppy disk of 3.5″ at 1.4MB it ran with the operating system of the Microsoft Windows 3.11 version.
Italian company, Olivetti, presented in mid 1970s the first personal computer with built in floppy disk. In the system everything is enclosed, even a printer. Prime competitor was the IBM counterpart.
Originally Olivetti S.p.A. manufactured typewriters and then expanded in the computer and calculator development sectors. Today, the corporation dosen’t limit only on the personal computer division, having a wide product range of smart phones, printers and calculators. Over the years Olivetti has received awards for the distinctive and aesthetically pleasing design of the products. One notable example is the Olivetti Echos 44 Colour.
