The Nec PC 8201A features an Intel 80c86 processor at 2.45 MHz and memory of 16 up to 64kB. Equipped with up to two floppy disks at 800kB it ran with the operating system of the BASIC version.
NEC, previously known as Nippon Electronic Company, is a Japanese electronics company. Business includes operations in different divisions such as IT solutions, cloud computing, AI ang Internet of Things (IoT) platform. During the years, the company produced telecommunications equipment, electronic components, semiconductors, home computers.
For the local Japanese market, NEC was among the best home computers manufacturers along with Fujitsu and Sharp.
