The Basic 2000 features a Zilog Z80 processor at 3.25 MHz and memory of 1kB. It ran with the operating system of the BASIC version.
Lambda 8300, alternatively known as Basic 2000 with various aliases, was produced in HongKong. The system presents features similar to ZX81, thus considered a clone, but with some differences in the hardware. These differences point to the key graphics, quality of circuit board and video monitor display.
Users underlined, even after all these years, the computer model functioned well and could be compared not only to the ZX81, but the ZX Sprectum as well. Overall, hardware improvements were more visible, but there were problems with the software incompatibility. It is an introductory kit, but not a complete failure, only losing in some points.
