Tech Interactive – The Tech Museum of Innovation | Technology Museums of the World
In the heart of the capital of Silicon Valley the Tech Interactive located in downtown San Jose, California, is the cradle of museum technology. Formerly known as the Tech Museum of Innovation, it was founded back in 1998.
The Tech is a world leader in providing hands-on activities for visitors of all ages, empowering people to build curiosity, creativity, and compassion. Apart from all technology competitions and science shows organized, the center creates stimulating and immersive STEM resources.
Architecture and exhibitions
The three-story building has a distinctive architecture and a large dome, with bright mango and azure colors. A large sculpture in the lower level represents the harmonious relationship between nature, humankind and science technology. The science and technology center offers permanent exhibitions and events covering many technical topics with many galleries. Subjects such as robotics, artificial intelligence, cyber security, seismic shifts, forces of nature and science, are explored.
The family friendly center holds experimental labs, design challenges, a clubhouse and training courses. Most notable exhibition are the Animaker, the World of Robots, the Earthquake Simulator, Space Exploration, Body Worlds and a BioTinkering Lab. Children could sit in an astronaut chair, design a roller coaster or even a robot!
All the interactive activities of the Tech Interactive, the Tech Museum of Innovation count up to 100 in total, covering topics from space to genetics. Of course there are also online activities and STEM groups for a year-round learning experience. Awesome!
