Sphero will build robots for police and military
Sphero, previously named “Company Six”, is a consumer robotics and toy company recently making headlines due to the license with Disney. The company manufactured the BB-8 robot from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film. Naturally, it was a commercial success, as anything from the Star Wars universe. When it debuted, it became a worldwide hit with unprecedented sales. The company offers all manner of software systems and robotics for the military, police and general work in harsh conditions
Sphero has sold more than four million products to people around the world. These innovations will help it remain competitive as we see more security forces being equipped with robotic technology. It’s hard to find other alternative sources of revenue, as sales have been in decline recently. And that’s why they’ve decided to make some important cuts and stop selling BB-8 and R2-D2 droids. The manufacturer decided to focus on the military and police robot business.
