Potential dangers of smart toys | FBI officialy reports on the dangers of childerns’ toys connecting to networks
The FBI warns American parents about the potential dangers of using “smart” toys. According to the Agency, devices that connect to the network are capable of exchanging data with devices they’re not supposed to, such as GPS receivers or Bluetooth devices. They, thus allow criminals to gain access to a child’s personal data very easily. Breaches of security and personal privacy are, thus, underlined for special notice.
Identity theft is one of the biggest problems of today. This is because things like passwords, bank account information and passwords are often stored on devices that can be easily compromised by criminals. It is very unfortunate to hear news recurrently on malicious attacks and breaches of cybersecurity today.
The FBI is warning parents about the risks of smart toys to their children. Parents should take care of their kids when choosing games for them, or even better, only let them have time for learning activities.
