
Android Nougat | Google presents the consumers’ adoption of new operating system version
Google’s new figures reveal that it’s new Android Nougat operating system has a slow but steady adoption rate month by month.
With the release of Android Oreo, it will have a hard time keeping up with Android Nougat’s adoption as they are very close together. Of course the Android O will start taking market share from Nougat. That will happen, as expected, when major companies like Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei, HTC etc., start upgrading their flagships.
Data from Google shows that two versions are being used more often, with Nougat and Marshmallow at 2% each. The other versions of the OS have been on decline For August, Marshmallow leads the way with 32.3%, followed by Lollipop at 29.2% and KitKat dropped to 16%. The Nougat version runs at 13.5% of devices. At the bottom of the ranking are Jelly Bean (7.6%), Ice Cream Sandwich (0.7%) and Gingerbread (0.7%).
