Apple ‘s own TV content
According to the latest information leaked, Apple is considering a big investement. The company will allocate around $1 billion in its Game of Thrones-like TV content in the next year.
In May 2018, Apple hired Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg from Sony’s TV business. They were veterans in the movie industry and now they can be seen as two of Apple’s most prominent executives. Holywwod executives have been working hard since early August, which is why they’ve chatted to the executive producers to figure out what content they want to include in the new service.
It’s unclear at this time what Apple plans to create with the rumored $1 billion spend. Some of the possibilities are 10 series of Game of Thrones or House of Cards caliber in the brand new Cupertino, California-based company.But this isn’t enough for them to create its own TV on-demand service
It is worth noting that Apple’s competitors are spending much more on productions that have already won the favour of the pro-viewing public. For example, HBO spent around $2 billion on content last year while Netflix spent $6 billion for their entire budget.
The apps Planet of the Apps and Carpool Karaoke received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, but Apple saw similar issues with their AI technology in the early 2000s, which led to the successful development of Siri.For a long time, audiences and critics felt that content production was not Apple’s primary concern. But recently, the company has developed new projects in various fields that are achieving huge success and recognition. With the success of these endeavors thus far, it’s easy to see why Apple is becoming more serious about content quality.
Apple is a company that is taking on the TV industry and develops its own content. However, the company does not want to exclude their content from Apple TV. Nor do they want to stop selling their services through the iTunes Store. This would limit consumer choice and offerings for their products.
We still haven’t heard any information about when Apple will launch a new streaming service. The company has already been hosting interesting productions, like Planet of the Apps on its original programming channel. There are many who argue that the company will create a new online TV service. It was just announced that Apple will be introducing a new Apple TV that supports 4K. It’s not, thus, surprising to hear about some related update information.
It was worth remembering that the list of specific services so far includes tech giants : Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Facebook, Google , with Verizon and At&T apparently following suit.
