Apple M1 Pro and M1 MAX

Apple laptops have replaced Intel processors with M1s and released the first MacBook Pro M1 in the fall of 2020. The real Pro model running the same Apple processor, though, came this October and makes everything else look like toys.

A first and somewhat more obvious difference that doesn’t touch the functional part so much though is in the dimensions of the computers, running the same Apple processor. Secondly, the new models don’t have the touchbar we all know. But it still provides the possibility of unlocking and identification via touchID. The 13″ and 15″ MacBook Pro models have been replaced by the 14″ and 16″ Macbook Pro models. In addition, the new models also continue to come in the familiar Silver and Space Grey colors.

The new MacBook Pro levels up to 70% CPU thanks to the Apple M1 chip, so now the unit can be up to 10-core, and 50% better GPU performance from 8-core. It runs with up to 32-core with maximum storage space four times as much as the previous models.

Despite all the upgrades the new Pro models continue to be among the lightest on the market with a weight for the 14″ version at 1.6 kg and for the 16″ version at 2.1 kg due to the lightness of the Apple M1 chip.

For the sake of history, you can take a look on specs of older models with processors preceding the M1 chip.
