Epson, one of the leading companies in the printing market, is doubling its investments in Greece. The previously dominant player in home inkjet printers has unveiled it’s new Precision Core Technology which is winning the battle against traditional laser printing both in terms of savings and speed.

Its goal is to improve market penetration, create stronger channels and increase the number of customers. Executives also said that this expanded business model will help increase their presence in Eastern European countries. This will be achieved by professional printing, either by supplying its inkjet printing products to small and medium companies or by renting printers to companies that will pay per month.

Precision Core Technology

It’s strategic positioning is reinforced by the development of Precision Core technology. This innovation has revolutionized the professional inkjet printing sector, which have seen an investment of around EUR 185 million. This new technology has helped the company to further their business objectives in an extraordinary manner. It has allowed them to evolve their inkjet printers, making them suitable for professional printing processes. Epson has invested EUR 585 million in new production facilities throughout Japan and other markets.

Inkjet printers are more affordable, faster and quieter with Precision Core Technology that has lower costs, better results and higher speeds. In addition, maintenance and user intervention require significantly less time than laser products.

Epson surveyed prominent decision makers in Europe and found 74% chose inkjet technology when presented with factors influencing their choice of professional printing technologies. However, only 7% of these people were aware of the advantages of inkjet printing over laser.

According the survey, the vast majority of people in the Balkan region choose professional inkjet printers.

Inkjet technology is expected to grow at a 10.2% (CAGR) in Western Europe by 2020 according to IDC.
