Facebook adds job ads

It is no longer surprising that Facebook ads wants to expand into any space related to the internet. Even if they know they are stepping on other people’s turf. According to the company, one of its new focuses is improving accessibility to jobs through their social network, which means that they are going head-to-head with LinkedIn for job promotion.

The company has started testing on a few Facebook Pages by adding a separate “Jobs” tab where they can post job ads and interested candidates will be able to send in their resumes. The company will then contact them individually.

Facebook Page administrators will be able to post a job by deciding the job title, subject, salary and more on the Jobs tab. Once the post is uploaded, it will be visible in the News Feed of your followers. If someone likes your offer and needs a job specifically for that position, they can click on the “Apply Now” button and a form will open for them to fill out with their contact information. The application will be sent to the administrator as an inbox.

Facebook wants to exploit those who use its social network by asking for more personal and real information. This is because businesses will be present on the platform, so you might want to share your own personal information. This is surely a development that will have a major impact LinkedIn- the site already has 467 million users.
