Facebook removes app

Facebook’s app won’t be available on Windows Phone anymore. In addition to Messenger, Instagram and Facebook app, it will also end support on Windows 8 and below. Though these services could technically still be used with a web browser as opposed to a dedicated app, they’ll no longer receive development efforts because they aren’t profitable anymore.

The discontinuation of apps for Windows Mobile is about to happen and this means that people who use it will need to update their apps quickly. The best way to do this would be from the device itself by pressing start and clicking on developer mode.

This summary of the notification and its announcement were announced on Reddit and caused an uproar amongst Windows Phone users. But, the publication did not provide information about how many active users are on these apps. There are some questions about Microsoft’s business with free apps. It is unclear whether or not it will be viable.

Microsoft has officially announced that NarrativeScience is not part of its future software platform plans. Microsoft will stop further updating Windows Phone by the early part of 2016, which means third-party apps will leave the Windows Phone platform.

When you’re using a Windows Phone device, it’s easy to stick with what you’re familiar with. You’ll find that specific features are still available and the whole experience is mostly on par or better than iOS or Android. There are also a lot of good reasons to keep using the product.
