Duplex | An electronic secretary | New AI software by Google presented
Google recently unveiled a new level of AI software that can make phone calls for users, schedule appointments and make reservations in a person’s place.
Google announced that it is going to begin experimenting in the upcoming weeks with a new tool, named Duplex, which does the job of a human personal assistant. CEO Sundar Pinchai made this known at its annual developer conference.
Analysts believe that the virtual assistant, if it actually works, will give Google a competitive edge over other, similar devices. Google Assistant will be having six new voices.
The demo by Google showed that their computer generated voice had a more natural tone and it seemed to sound less “robot like” than the others. However, the public may still not be ready to trust a software to make some critical business calls and interact on their behalf.
