Apple usually holds two events per year in which it presents its new products. Usually at the first event of the year it announces the affordable version of its mobile devices (iMac and Macbook). Accordingly, in this event the company also presents new iPad models. This year we expect the presentation of the Apple M2 chip as well.
Sometime in 2020, Apple announced the end of its partnership with Intel and the creation of its own M1 processors. The new Macbook Air and Macbook Pro computers would firstly run with this processor. The following year the first iMacs with the M1 chip came out.
So this spring we expect to see the announcement of the release of new Apple computers with improved features such as the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air, possibly running with the brand new Apple M2 chip. According to Apple insiders, the new iMac Pro with 27″ diagonal screen size will also be released and actually wear the new M2 processor. As rumored, the new processor will have the same CPU architecture as its predecessor but the graphics will be 9, 10 cores.
We also expect the release of a Pro and Max version as preceded with the M1 chip.
Our expectations of the new processor are very high, espacially due to its high-performance and high-efficiency cores. All cores, expectedly, will work together for an impressive multi-threaded performance. Possibly, products with the M2 chip will be faster with a more prolonged battery life. Time will tell.
