
Huawei reaches new heights | Huawei’s success in sales
According to figures released by IDC in the second quarter of 2018, Huawei has become the world’s 2nd largest maker of smartphones.
Huawei recently made aย statement. The company attributed its success to the excellent sales results of its flagship device, namely the Huawei P20 Pro.
The company achieved an increase in global sales of 41% last year, which was the reason for their milestone being possible. In the 2nd quarter of 2017, the company had a total of 38.4 million units shipped in smartphones worldwide. Yet in the 2nd quarter of 2018, they’ve increased to 54.2 million units shipped. There has been significant growth in the Central and Eastern European and Nordic regions. Over the last year, this has increased by 56%.
“This announcement is extremely important for us. Some may look at these results simply as numbers, but for us, the high growth rate and our ability to move up to the next rung on the podium are extremely satisfying. It is a very tangible demonstration of the dedication of our teams and our ability to respond accurately to people’s needs. We will do our best to continue on this path,” said Yanmin Wang, President of Huawei Consumer Business Group CEE & Nordic, Yanmin Wang.
In 2017, Huawei’s research and development expenditure came to $13.8 billion, an increase of 17.4% compared to 2016
