Huawei rolled out the Mate 20 Pro in London today. The Mate 20 Pro can now claim the title of best smartphone on the market. The model acquired more impressive specs and useful features than ever before. Among other features, the processor and triple camera on back make this phone so valuable.
The Chinese company is betting big on the Mate 20 Pro. During the presentation the company mentioned this. “With the new models of the new Mate 20 series, we are taking a step forward” Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer devices division, noted. The new Mate 20 Pro will be available in Greece starting November 1st and the retail price is 1049€. This price tag is a pretty big deal for some, but it is justified by the design and technical features of the new device.
The Mate 20 Pro has a 6.4-inch screen that curves at the edges in ways never seen on top Huawei models. It has a similar structure to the P20 Pro. In addition, it has extremely small bezels. The most important innovation, however, is the location of the fingerprint reader under the screen and on the underside. So to unlock the device, you just have to tap the screen. You can unlock it via face unlock, and it also is water and dust resistance.
The Mate 20 Pro is the first device to use Huawei’s Kirin 980. Built using 7-nanometer technology will provide better performance. It, also, includes better battery management. The battery has a capacity of about 4200 milliamp-hours, which the company estimates can last up to 2 days. The charger that comes with the package offers fast charging. Also, for the first time, wireless charging is becoming a possibility. The memory in the upcoming model that will come to Greece is 6 GB, with internal storage of 128 GB and the possibility of expansion via a new internal card. This new card sells separately as an accessory.
There is a triple camera on the back of the device. The camera is made in collaboration with Leica and comes with 3 lenses: a telephoto lens, color lens, and ultra-wide angle lens. It has resolution of 40MP, 8MP and 20MP respectively.
This smartphone is aimed at people who use their smartphone as a professional tool, so Huawei added the wireless connectivity option on one screen. Once the connection is made, you’ll see an interface that’s close to a Windows PC rather than an Android device.
