Release of the GPD Win 2 handheld running Windows 10 Home
GPD discontinued the release of their Win 1 console in October 2016. These types of devices, though, are still reccurently in release, despite Windows’ declining share. The number of mobile devices running Android or iOS has also continued to rise, but the number that run Windows has fallen significantly.
The device runs Windows 10 Home on a 5.5 inch diagonal 720p resolution display measuring 155×97 mm. Inside there is an Intel Atom Z8700 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, a 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD 405 graphics and 64GB of storage. As it seems, this handheld will run for about 9-10 hours on a full charge. The new model will have a 720p screen like previous models, but it will have a 6-inch display. Plus, there will be an Intel Core M3-7Y30 from the Kaby Lake generation version, with Intel 615 graphics and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. It will also come with 128GB of SSD storage.
Of course, the GPD Win 2 will have Windows operating system and the price is expected to move much higher, namely $699. That is a hefty proce tag, don’t you think?
