Since months have already passed after the release of Apple’s latest iPhone model, iPhone 13 Pro Max we are now able to compare it with its predecessor, iPhone 12 pro Max. On the comparison, iPhone 12 Pro Max vs iPhone 13 Pro Max, we see both similarities and differences (internally and externally).
Some similarities
Externally they have several features in common. Same flat sides, same colors(except for the new Sierra Blue that came to replace the darker Pacific Blue) same OLED display with a 6.7-inch diameter and a resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels.ย Since the arrival of 11 pro we are constantly presented with 3 cameras on the back. Also since iPhone X, at the top of the screen we have the notch feature that has now become a trend. However, even in these common elements shared by the two models there are significant changes that make the iPhone 13 Pro Max one of the best models of its time.
Differences on the improvements
The new iPhone shares height and width with its predecessor, however it is just 2mm thicker and 10g heavier. The three cameras on its back now support movie mode and ProRes video recording as well as 3x optical zoom and 9x digital zoom. IPhone 12 Pro Max only offered 2.5x and 7x zoom. Its notch is also 20% smaller thus increasing the available screen area. The screen has a high refresh rate of 120Hz compared to the 60Hz of the previous model. This makes watching videos more enjoyable. A significant improvement also concerns the battery life. 13 Pro Max has a 4,373 mAh cell compared to the 12 Pro Max’s 3,687 mAh cell. That doubles livestreaming hours from 12 to 25 hours and adds another 8 hours of video playback.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max continues to support 5G connectivity and offers dual SIM card capability (nano-SIM & eSIM). It does not support micro-SIM cards like other smartphones.
