Xiaomi Mi 9
Last year, Xiaomi unveiled a special edition of its flagship, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. This phone has a transparent back that reveals the phone’s internal parts. It’s unfortunate that the company faltered with such an advertisement because it is clearly faux. The parts shown are a far cry from the quality and reliability of the actual phone components which went viral on social media. In the Mi 9 Explorer Edition, we’re borrowing the AMOLED display from the Mi 8 Explorer Edition but some might say that there’s a question mark over whether you can trust it.
In a recent Weibo post, Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun admitted that the silver casing of the transparent back is just a thin aluminum sheet CNC-engraved with stylized designs. The aluminum part not only looks nice but also does a better job of cooling down.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 will also come with a 48MP AI camera consisting of 7 lenses with f/1.47 and 12GB of RAM. The Explorer Edition will accompany the Mi 9 at MWC 2019.
