Intel announced the latest generation of their “low-power, Atom-class” processor last month. Laptop manufacturers and PC makers have already started to release products with these new processors. They will be available on the market later this year. Gigabyte and ASRock have some new mini ITX boards that are perfect for laptops with compact footprints. PC boards are getting more popular these days, with their cheap prices they’re perfect for individuals and small companies. They’re also highly versatile which makes them the perfect accompaniment to recent PC trends.
ASRock J4105-ITX and the ASRock J4105B-ITX
ASRock has announced two miniature motherboards: the ASRock J4105-ITX and the ASRock J4105B-ITX with Celeron J4105 processors. The computer possesses 4 high-powered cores. Graphics chips included, they provide a machine that can handle all kinds of work. The graphics card comes with the ability to handle 10 billion panes and controls, providing you with the support you need for encoding and decoding of high quality video at ultra-high definition resolutions, like those required for streaming services like Netflix.
Motherboards differ in their number of connectors and types, but the J4105B-ITX has both RS232 & LPT connectors so there’s no need to worry. The processors cool passively and they come with two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots. This means that you can use it to create a quiet system and install up to 8GB of RAM in dual channel. TechPowerUp reports that the motherboards wil have a price tag close to $170, based on the processor priced at $107. It’s likely that the price will be significantly lower, even lower than the price listed on Intel’s website for the P-series.
Gigabyte is announcing the J4005N D2P mini ITX motherboard, and they’re well-suited to lead the way during this post-gen release. They have released a new line of J/N motherboards with the “Gemini Lake” processors which can boost your business even further with its quality and speed. Intel Celeron and Pentium Silver are two types of processors that will be available on the new series. There may also be a model difference, but we’re not yet sure. The processor will be cooled with a passive cooling system and the advanced features of the motherboard includes HDMI 2.0 and PCIe Gen2 x2 M.2 for NVMe SSD support. The memory capacity is up to 2400MHz, but no more information is available at this time.
