New warning from Apple

Apple is warning iPhone owners that they may interfere with medical devices, even in pacemakers and defibrillators. iPhones contain magnets and transmitters that emit electromagnetic fields, but more magnets than previous iPhone models, include four iPhone 12 models, as well as MagSafe accessories.

Apple, for its part, stresses that they pose no more risk of further magnetic interference than the other models. But it defines the safety distance as a distance greater than 6 inches, i.e. 15 centimetres.

Health scientists have long been sounding the alarm that patients with medical devices should not put the phones in shirt pockets. Apple recommends that we consult with our doctor and the manufacturer of the medical devices we use for safe distance between it and our iPhone or MagSafe charger.

Finally, Apple is also warning that if we feel our iPhone 12 or MagSafe accessories interfering with the medical device we are using we will we should immediately stop using it.
