Nintendo Switch is outselling Xbox One | Commercial sucess for the new gaming console
The Nintendo Switch had a great financial year with some positive news revealed during the earnings report.
The hybrid console sold 52.48 million units, 5.19 million of which were from the Switch Lite.
What’s important to note is that analysts estimate that the Switch has been outselling Xbox One systems. When comparing sales of the Switch to Microsoft, it only took 34 months for Nintendo to sell as many consoles as Microsoft did in 74 months. The Xbox One has sold over 50 million units.
Nintendo is doing very well this year thanks in part to Switch Lite, Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Luigi’s Mansion 3. The company’s total profit this year is nearly the same as it was when they released the Wii in 2009. With 310.65 million units sold, the Switch has already surpassed software sales of other consoles. With an average of 5.92 games per console owner, there is something for all types of gamers!
