Greeks and online shopping
Greeks are among the most stressed residents among all of the countries surveyed by PayPal during the Christmas shopping season.
The thing that causes a lot of stress for people (67%) at Christmas time is the feeling of not being able to afford gifts, and not knowing what would be an ideal present.
More than half of Greeks believe crowded streets, in-store crowding and general traffic can spoil their gift shopping experience. But they also complain that people are rude, refusing to wait their turn in a queue. Luckily, digital tools have greatly reduced this burden for most people.
Greeks have a variety of ways they can do to combat the stress of the festive season, and one is through online shopping. This year, nearly 40% of those who holiday shopped across Greece prefer to purchase gifts online. Among the consumers, 30% shop using mobile devices, meaning that the number has increased 9% from last year.
More and more people are buying gifts through online shopping, but they’re often worried they won’t like it once they get them. As a result, many are turning to shopping on international sites.
Greeks buy books (27%), computer games (27%), and clothing (26%) for their loved ones.
