The Bondwell Model 8 features an Intel 80C88 processor at 4.77 MHz (unlike previous models) and memory of 512kB. Equipped with a floppy disk of 3.5” at 720kB it ran with the operating system of the MS DOS 2.11 version.
Bondwell was originally involved in the personal computers division during the productive years between the 1980s and 1990s. The “luggable” computer product line was of Z80, CP/M-80 based at a reasonable price, light weight and of modern design.
Despite the grand commercial success of the series, almost a decade after the foundation the company was defunct. Shares were acquired by Remotec Technology Limited company. Remotec is a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman producing remote control military robots for governments.
