The Dauphin DTR1 features a Cyrix 486SLC processor at 25 MHz and memory of 4 up to 6MB. Equipped with an HDD of 20MB 0r 40MB it ran with the operating system of the Microsoft DOS 6.0 or Windows 3.1 version.
Dauphin Technology established back in 1988. The main division activity was the laptop computers and computers pen-based, like the present model. Main customer of the corporatrion was the US Government, the Department of Defense. Actually, in 1992 Dauphin signed a $395 million contract with the Pentagon.
Innovative models launched during the productive years until 1995. One commercial success for the company was the DTR-1 (Desk Top Replacement), a pen based, hand held computer. The model featured strong hardware elements, especially the HP Kittyhawk drive, the most reliable at that time.
