The Digital VT 180 (codename Robin) features a Zilog Z80 processor at 4 MHz and memory of 64kB. Equipped with two floppy disks of 5.25”, capable to port up to 4 disks, it ran with the operating system of the CP/M version.
Digital Equipment Corporation, trademarked Digital, was an American electronics company, founded in 1957. The company was involved in various divisions. Apart from the microcomputers it manufactured microprocessors digital tape data storage, workstations, servers etc.
During the most productive years, when sales went very well the corporation released many successful product lines. In late 1990s, though, with the company labeled defunct, Compaq completed the acquisition and signed the largest merger in computer history. Soon after that, Compaq went into financial difficulty and merged with HP in 2002.
