The Orel BK 08 had a Zilog Z80A processor at 3.5 MHz and memory of 64kB. It ran with the operating system of the BASIC version. Integrated was an extended keyboard with Cyrillic characters and two Sinclair joystick ports.
Orel was a Soviet ZX-Spectrum clone, produced in late 1980s. It was manufactured in Dnepropetrovsk facilities in Ukraine until early 1990s with the Soviet Union split. Later units were renamed to UkrSertRea. The corporation produced only a limited number of units, for local distribution only, with problems in parts availability. Hardware quality was generally poor, locally made with an exception of the CPU, which was Korean (from GoldStar).
In post-Soviet times, the value of the computers increased for obvious historic reasons, but because of their use in educational institutions for its BASIC language.
