The Siemens PC-D features an Intel 80186 processor at 8 MHz and memory of 156kB. Equipped with two floppy disk of 5.25” it run with the operating system of the MS DOS 2.1 version.
Siemens released the PC-D and PC-X series of personal computers between 1992 and 1996. Some of the models were also IBM PC compatible by design. Most of the hardware was identical, with powerful configurations. The architecture was the same to all and only a few features varied, like the hard disk capacity or RAM memory.
In this decade, Siemens manufactured radios, television sets and electron microscopes as well. The company wasn’t, thus, dedicated only to the personal computer division. The German conglomerate has many open divisions, from personal computers to the solar photovoltaic industry. For many decades, the company has designed, manufactured and marketed feature phones, radios, personal computers. Among the wide variety of products, included are television sets or electron microscopes and even trains (per example the Siemens C651 one).
