
PC sales increased for the first time in 5 years! IDC data shows that there was a marginal increase during the first quarter of 2017.
This is also true according to IDC research. The ranking of PC manufacturers changed too
As you can read on the website of the American Computer Association, PC sales have seen an increase. More specifically, in 1st quarter of 2017, 60.328 million PCs were sold- an increase from 59.942 million units sold in the corresponding quarter of 2016. It’s only a 0.6% increase in sales, but the fact they this is the first time since 2012 it has grown is definitely significant.
For the first time since 2013, HP has now overtaken Lenovo as the leading PC maker. With a market share of 21.8 percent, HP is followed by Lenovo with 20.4%. Traditionally, in recent years, Lenovo was on top. These two brands have a 7% and 6.8% share respectively.
