The Windows 10 Preview Build 16176 features a new power consumption managing feature that could save up to 11% of your battery life.
You might have apps like Diaspora running in the background. They can use up a lot of battery and constantly sync with servers, which makes your battery drain quickly. The power-throttling functionality we’re including will make these apps run more efficiently and preserve your battery life.
Power throttling gives your PC more power to conserve when running unrelated tasks in the background. This means that your battery will last much longer and cores will function efficiently.
To help conserve energy and save you time, Microsoft have announced plans to introduce a power saving feature in their next Windows 10 update, which is set to go live in 2017
We currently have power throttling for Skylake or Kaby Lake, but soon we will update for others as well.
