Security flaw in iOS 13

Security flaw in iOS 13

Apple is ready to release iOS 13 on September 19. Someone familiar with the upcoming operating system has already discovered a new vulnerability. It’s easy to make FaceTime calls on the iPhone and use Siri voiceover to call your contacts.

Hackers intrude not only by a specific phone number, email address or home address. A device unlocked isn’t the only problem to address. This new device can provide them with a list of those numbers without their needing to unlock your phone first. iPhones’ built-in software, called VoiceOver, provides an accessibility feature for those who are blind or visually impaired.

Rodriguez said he submitted a video showing the vulnerability on July 17, but it was in the Gold Master (GM) version of iOS 13 that will roll out next week. The Verge was able to replicate the screen lock override on a PC using iOS 13’s GM (Grouped Manager) version. The iOS 12 update that came last year and users have detected a big security flaw! Hackers could now easily access the contact list and messages that you sent, and even your FaceTime conversations. Apple released a fix for this issue, which allowed the use of VoiceOver on older versions of iOS. Note that this was not the only security flaw in the iOS 8 version. Despite its importance, this one’s just one of many vulnerabilities reported.

In iOS 13 there was a new security threat that required to hacker to physically hold your target’s iPhone long enough for the process to complete. Performing this move requires you to keep the screen of your target’s iPhone turned off, making it harder for them identify what is happening. Apple is expected to release a new update called iOS 13.1 later this year which includes features intended to prevent this vulnerability that was discovered recently.
