Android for foldable smartphones

Android for foldable smartphones

Google is preparing changes to Android, which will make applications run better on folding smartphones like that of Samsung. This latest update will provide more user-friendly features for devices that are able to fold in half.

The first change is called Screen Continuity. It lets your device automatically change and sync when the device is closed and displayed on an external screen. The apps also have to adjust for this change. Plus when the transition is made Android will send an update to the settings so that the app changes appearance and adapt to its unfolded screen.

The second feature, multi-resume, has to do with applications that are simultaneously visible on the screen in multi-window mode. It has sometimes been observed that when an application is not the one the user is using, it may become inactive. But this will change and Google will soon allow developers to have them active when they are in multiple active windows.

Lastly, we have multi-display with Android providing support for multiple windows. When an app supports multi-window mode and “runs” on a device that supports it, users can move the activity from one window to another. When you start an activity, in most cases, the application will decide which window that activity belongs to.
