Low battery anxiety

“Low battery anxiety” is an issue for 9 out of 10 people according to a recent LG study.

The company surveyed 2,000 American smartphone users and found that 1/3 of them will stop doing what they’re doing in order to make sure their phone has a charge. Even if it means going back home. In fact, among teenagers the figure is 42%.

The study showed 46% of people would ask strangers for a charger out of necessity, even if that meant shame. So many people admit that they are stressed by a low battery (60%) because they fear of missing a call from a loved one.

Many people say that their battery-less mobile phone caused a fight with their other half, as it looks suspicious these days not to answer texts and calls.

Up until today, this anxiety is not, yet, clinically recognised. This matter turns out to be certainly more than trivial. People are getting anxious of leaving house without a fully charged phone. What do you think of peoples’ blatant dependency on mobile use?
