Turkish hackers attack | Ayyildiz Tim hacker group
A new barrage of cyber attacks from Turkish hackers has been going on for the last few hours. This time, hackers from Ayyildiz Tim, one of the oldest hacking groups in Turkey, were behind the attacks. At least 100 major Greek websites have endured the recent cyber attack.
The Ayyildiz Tim was established in 2002 and has its headquarters in Turkey. It is suspected of having links with other powerful hacking groups from around the world. They also identify themselves as nationalists, patriots, and Kemalists. This group is incredibly popular on social media with more than 1 million followers.
Operation “Hedefimiz Yunanistan Bilginize” targets pages of organizations such as Olympiacos, Atromitos, university, and school pages.
This is a hacktivist group, employing illegal hacking and online manipulation techniques in support of a cause, usually political. Tactics against their targets include Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks, hijacking of accounts, website defacement even posting sensitive data online.
