Viber today announced the launch of Viber Communities. This will allow users to create virtual group chats with up to 1 billion other members. Viber is now used by millions as a networking platform, gathering people in one place to share instantly.
With many levels of privilege, powerful features, and engaging tools at their disposal, community admins have a lot to work with. They can engage and grow large-scale communities with ease and getting people together around topics they all desire. Viber is getting ready to release new features that will allow Community owners to build revenue models in their community.
But don’t forget that with a Viber Community, you also have access to all of the different chatting features as well as GIFs, stickers & emojis. You can even add in images and videos your Community will love! Viber has a strong commitment to user privacy and security. In Communities, only members’ names are visible, and their phone numbers are not visible to other members.
Superadmins and their role
Superadmins have a lot of privileges over community members. Firstly, they can control who participates in the community and upgrade people to admin or superadmin or block comments. In addition to that, they can decide who has the right to invite new members. Superadmins have a unique ability to develop a community by activating share links or undoing these links at any time. They can enable revenue generation capabilities, according to the policy and goal of the community and with the support of Viber.
Superadmins can enable users not only to assign different roles of admin status, but also to remove all messages from a thread. This can be helpful in managing discussion and maintaining order.
“Viber brings people together through personal relationships, shared passions and interests,” said Djamel Agaoua, CEO of Viber.
“People need to be free to communicate and interact with each other no matter where they are, which is why we launched Viber Communities. For the first time, groups of unlimited size can form ‘communities’ around common themes, and the managers of these communities have all the tools they need to manage the community smoothly and efficiently. The new Viber Communities are unique not only because of their unlikely 1 billion member limit, but also because they offer owners an unprecedented opportunity to monetize their communities further enhancing their value for people and organizations interested in creating valuable global communities with engaged members”.
