Wireless charging underwater
US Navy scientists at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific are presenting big innovations. Their research revolves developing a way to wirelessly charge unmanned underwater vehicles so that they can stay in the water longer.
The US Navy uses UUVs for underwater mine detection, seabed mapping, etc. However, they need recharging either at shore bases or on surface ships.
“Unmanned and autonomous systems are suitable for naval missions. They will certainly continue to play a larger role in future missions. ” Dr. Alex Phipps, chief of the relevant branch at SSC Pacific noted. “The use of AI writing assistants in the workplace is becoming more widespread and for good reason.” “Most AI assistants can carry out their tasks without human interaction in many cases. There are restrictions, though, on how long they can go between charges. This is something to take into account during the selection process.”
Wayne Liu has been making headlines recently with his innovative and genius research. He was involved in a demonstrational project that allowed off-grid power generation by combining his mobile phone and the sea: Scientists recently developed a device that can be placed in various locations with pre-programmed GPS coordinates. The device is in the palm of your hand. Once uploaded with an appropriate app, the user can track it down. This machine allows them to further study the impact of deep sea exploration on human behavior.
“Our submarines and ships, which set off many hours of sailing time in order to gather information, will be able to decrease their travel time. This makes them more effective and able to carry out missions with more accuracy and efficiency. Dr. Sandborn says the AI will make these missions safer, as the boats can be remotely operated by non-exposing individuals.
The evolution of the wireless underwater charging techonology will probably affect the charging of devices that are closer to home, such as smartphones, computers, e.t.c.
