The Psion Series 3a features a NEC V30H processor at 7.68 MHz and memory of 256kB up to 2MB. It ran with the operating system of the EPOC16 version.
Psion PLC was a British electronics company with operations across Canada, Europe, Asia and Middle East. Established back in 1980, held close relationship with Sinclair Research. Originally, the main division area was the handheld computers, both for home and business use. Other products of the company included software, hardware, wireless networks and support programs. For a short period, Psion planned expanding business by entering the mobile phone market as well, through the acquisition of Amstrad subsidiary, with no particular avail.
Psion gained grand commercial success primarily in the personal digital assistant (PDA) division. During the years, the corporation dropped other operations but the mobile computing systems. Some notable best selling models of the PDA product line were the Psion Series 3a and successors Revo etc.
