The Casio FP 200 features an Intel 80C85 processor at 4 MHz and memory of 8kB. It ran with the operating system of the BASIC version.
Unlike the other family of personal computers from the brand, the Casio PB series, the Casio FP series was the first to present “handheld” computers. The name, thus, reflected to the size and easy portability. Another feature very distinctive was modularity.
Another first for this computer line was the inclusion of a spreadsheet called CETL (Casio Easy Table Language). This integrated spreadsheet was then included in the PF pocket diaries series as well, released in 1983.
FP-200 preceded cousins such as the Kyocera KC85, the Tandy Model 100 and the Olivetti M-10 by some months.
