The Dragon MSX 64 features a Zilog Z80A processor at 3.58 MHz and memory of 64kB. It ran with the operating system of the MSX DOS version.
Dragon Data was a Welsh computer manufacturer during the early 1980s. The history of the company is checkered. Originally set up by toy company Mettoy, found the first difficulties after its demise. Continuing as a separate stand-alone company, Dragon Data gradually lost market share. Another reason for the commercial failures was the mediocre quality in graphics. After only two years of operation, the company was labeled defunct in 1984.
The Dragon 32, 64 and MSX 64 had a very similar architecture to the TRS-80 Color Computer. Initially, sales went very well but the two grand impediments made sales plunge. The graphic capabilities were limited and the hardware supported text modes included only upper case characters. After the collapse in 1984, Spanish Eurohard S.A. acquired the company, continuing the Dragon lineage.
