The Interact Model One features an Intel i8080 processor at 2 MHz and memory of 16kB. It ran with the operating system of Edu BASIC version.
Interact Electronics was one of the first computer companies to introduce to the consumer world one of the earliest home computers in as early as 1978. Founder of the corporation was BASIC language developer, Ken Lochner. Unfortunately, the product line didn’t meet commercial success and ceased production shortly after. Electronics Inc. went bankrupt after only selling a few thousand units.
The Interact Model One Home Computer was primarily distributed through mail order sales across the US region, Detroit, Texas, Chicago etc. Most successful application was the “Message Center”, even though it was mostly a gaming machine. As with other early computing systems, users could learn the BASIC programming language functioning as the perfect tool for classes.
