The SOL 20 has an Intel 8080 processor at 2 MHz and memory of 1 up to 64kB.
Process Technology Corporation introduced to the world the first fully assembled microcomputer with integrated keyboard and television output. Considered the first complete home computer combined an Intel 8080 based motherboard with VDM-1 graphics card. All models were available either fully assembled or as electronic kits.
One of the founders, Lee Felsenstein had proposed the name SOL reflecting the “wisdom of Solomon” being kept inside the computer box. With a successful marketing strategy and strong sales presence, the product line formed over the years. Unfortunately, the brand could not keep up with dominant rivals of the time, such as Apple II, Commodore PET and TRS-80. After sales of new products plunged, the corporation filed for bankruptcy.
