
MWC 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus | GSMA’s recent announcement
Looks like the world’s biggest smartphone device show isn’t happening this year because of the coronavirus. The organization behind the event, GSMA, confirmed that it has been canceled because of concerns over the coronavirus.
Since 2006, the GSMA has brought together industry, governments, ministers and legislators at events like Mobile World Congress Barcelona.
GSMA is cancelling MWC Barcelona 2020 due to global concern over the coronavirus outbreak, travel concerns and other circumstances that make it impossible for them to shuttle people in and out of the country as safely and easily as possible.
Last year over 100,000 people attended MWC 2019 to discuss the latest in technology and innovation.The GSMA’s decision may be one-way street, as MWC 2020 would have already been hit by the absence of major companies because of the coronavirus. It may not have the glamour that the organisers would have wanted.
