Android 12 L is coming. What to expect?
Android 12L takes advantage of the additional space on tablet screens to create a better user experience. For instance, it makes notification management, quick settings, and lock screen widgets easier to use. It also makes the home screen and overview interface more accessible for usage with larger displays
For example, lock screen pattern and PIN controls on tablets are visible on the side of the screen for easier access. You can also swipe to bring the other part of the screen right over to it by tapping and holding your finger there momentarily.
The company is implementing optimizations to the home screen grid and smoothing out the fold-unfold transition in order to make it easier for users to jump between a single exterior page and a more spacious, unfolded page. In Android 12, Google has added gestures to the taskbar to make opening up apps. For example, you can use your finger to drag and drop an app and split-screen mode will automatically open. You can also swipe up on the screen in order to go back home. Google’s new split-screen mode could be useful for when you need to work on two screens. You should know that in the Overview, you can even start a Split action by simply tapping it.
Additionally, with its compatibility mode, Google is forcing developers to use this new experience or else they’ll be kicked out of Google Play.Google has launched Android 12L but it is not yet available on a device without the latest hardware.
Devices are expected to provide users access to Google’s new features and become available from Lenovo, Samsung and Microsoft in the future.
