Free WiFi4EU everywhere

Under the name WiFi4EU, the European Commission wants to ensure free public Wi-Fi connectivity for citizens and visitors. Public places include parks, squares, public buildings, libraries, health centers and museums. In this way they can make Europe the best modern digital hub that it can be.

WiFi4EU is a โ‚ฌ120 million budget program that will support the installation of Wi-Fi equipment in various locations. It will start this year and continue for the following five years.

Local businesses and communities use WiFi4EU, so everyone has access to the Internet. This program will have a significant impact on different industries. These include health care, education and public services.

Connectivity for the benefit of all means that it should not matter where you live or what your bank account looks like. That is why every European village and every European city should offer free wireless internet access in the major town center..

The WiFi4EU project offers public bodies such as local authorities, libraries, and health centers the opportunity to make their services approachable for people who are not online. Equipment and installation will be off the bill for use by the programme, while the beneficiary pays for their connection and upkeep of devices. This is at least 3 years of being billed.

Local authorities will be able to develop and promote their own digital services in areas such as e-government, e-health and e-tourism, etc., through an accessible application.

WiFi4EU allows people to pay for its services primarily through rewards programs, group discounts and soft monitoring requirements. Its selection process is reliant on a first-come, first-served basis. Project implementers who want to be included in this program must be able to provide spaces for their work areas where similar free Wi-Fi isn’t offered by public or private entities. Projects for funding and development are the first things to be put into the online portal
