New G.Skill record | Clocking DDR4 memories at 6666 MHz
G.Skill has created a new record for its DDR4 RAM memory timing. A new world record has been achieved in DDR4 memory overclocking. ‘Bianbao’ of Overclock.net managed to achieve DDR4-6666.
The company introduced the overclocker with an exclusive Trident Z Royal series, which has improved its memory standard. The part number of the memories indicated that they were running at 4,000MHz. This means that we probably have CL timings of 18-22-22-42. This overclok did a 66% jump in memories’ frequency compared to the original devices. It went from 4332.2 MHz to 6665.4 MHz while remaining CL timings of 31-63-63-63.
Liquid nitrogen’s use aims traditionally to cooling, as in this experiment. Much thanks to the overclocker’s gaming background, ASUS covered him with the ROG Maximus XII Apex. Hardcore gamers particularly adored this motherboard for its extreme memory overclocking capabilities. The new Intel Core i9-10900K is sleek and powerful. It’s turbo boost can reach up to 7.7 GHz, even better than the other processors in this list!
The emergence of new processors often includes overclocked records. G.Skill and Asus missed their 7,000 MHz DDR5 show recently by only achieving 334.6 MHz, so we’ll need to wait a little bit longer until DDR5 memories really start breaking over 5,000 MHz speeds.
