NOESIS – Thessaloniki Science Center and Technology Museum | Technology Museums of the World
NOESIS was founded back in 1978 as a cultural and educational non-profit organization, the Technical Museum of Thessaloniki. Only in 2001 it developed to NOESIS as we know it today, after re-establishing in new facilities, transferring all human resources and activities in the new grounds on Thermi, an outskirt of Thessaloniki.
The award winning facilities offer a suitable environment for visitors having won top international honors. The principal aim is to introduce to the general public of all ages to the world of technology and all recurrent innovations, in order to better understand sciences. NOESIS offers permanent exhibitions and many events, programs all year long. Some temporary exhibitions to note are the Art of Shadow, Connected and many more. Visitors can have screenings in the Planetarium, the Cosmotheater and the Virtual Reality Simulator alike for 3D movies.
Permanent exhibitions include collections of Ancient Greek Technology (from Prehistory up until the Byzantine times), a Car Showroom for a fascinating walk down the memory lane on the automobile industry and a Technopark. Visitors can have hands-on experience and experiments with interactive exhibits to understand science through a fun and educative way. The institution offers a virtual tour to collections and many programs in the educational labs for children of all ages. Indulge into the world of sciences and technology. Fascinating!
